Some of the hardest people to come out to are peers, we all want to be accepted - how did your mates take it?

I go to an all boys school but actually I was amazingly impressed at how everyone took it, there was one guy who decided to ask mid French lesson whether I was top or bottom, but his friends soon shut him up. Other than that noone has really bothered about it, if it comes up in conversation then that's just convo, and occasionally there are a few jokes, but I'll be the one to start most of them.

Dude there is no post up here for just a random chat about anything - the weather, last nights Hollyoaks or to praise the makers of "the L word"!
I'm starting one now because I am in the libary very annoyed as they used to have a really good pride section here and now it's GONE. What am I going to read now apart from DIVA?

Okay so which is your favorite soap? Must admit (sadly) that I watch neighbours and hollyoaks. Neighbours is like an ancient family tradition, as is nice to get in from school and flop to watch. And hollyoaks, well my bro went to uni and came back and hence got us all hooked. I must admit though hollyoaks is good in the respect that it tackles modern issues in a nonbiased way.

So when did everyone come out? How old were you? Who did you tell first etc?

I came out at 15, seemed young but with everything going on in my family it is what I needed to do. I first told one of my mates at school and he was fine with it, but then I expected him to be. To tell mum I wrote her a letter, and I'd just read a book (fictional) about this guy coming out and how he felt etc so gave her that to read. She pretended to be fine with it but quite clearly wasn't, but now 2 years later she seems to be perfectly fine with it etc, although there are always bumpy patches occasionally. My brother got told by accident by a friend of mine at the club, but he wasn't to know, and my brother was fine. Coming out at school was brilliant, and everyone took it really well :).

Well as there is a forum entitled Film & TV I thought we should really have a topic on reading. Anyone reading any good books? Any books to defin read, or defin avoid?

I'm currently reading "The Awakened Mage" by Karen Miller, it's the 2nd book of 2. The first one is called "The Innocent Mage". Without wanting to give the plot away it's about this guy called Asher who has a prophecy written about him although he doesn't know it, and the two books go through how he lives his life unaware of a group called "the circle" who are trying to help him.

My favorite books are "The Trial" by Franz Kafka, "The Wasp Factory" by Ian Banks, "1984" by George Orwell, "The Book of Lost Things" by James Connolly, and "The Black Magician Trilogy" by Trudi Canavan. And yes I realise those choices of books make me out to appear some sick and twisted individual, what can I say I like dark books.

Oh and book to avoid - Romanitas! Load of old drivel!!

Right then my lovely lesbians out there. I'm here to tell you about a really good webcomic i have come across in my internetional (geddit!) travels.

YU+ME
http://rosalarian.com/yume/

This webcomic is about a young teen american lesbian who comes to grip with who she is and the world around her. I don't want to give too much away, but i can say, it will leave you wanting to know more and more after each ep. The artwork is also very exceptional. The narration and storytelling is done in good taste and good humour. :)
It also lets you submit fanart and it has a store aswell where you can buy some bits and pieces related to the webcomic. (I want the tshirt, the tshirt will be mine!)

So yeh, give it a read and tell us what you think of it :) and let us know if you find any good ones

My private life and indeed who I choose to date or NOT DATE as the case may be is MY business, I do not appreciate nor expect it to be the subject of gossip and rumours. On a separate note, I do wish that in general you show a little more control and restraint around people's personal lives, as we all should know, being an LGBTQ young person is hard enough without making our own lives harder!

That's my two cents for now!
